It\u2019s not easy to find stylish resorts during the busy summer months in Europe especially with a quiet location and unspoiled beaches. However, when traveling to the furthest corners of southern Portugal or to the interior, there is a good chance that you will succeed. We have selected a number of design hotels that are worth mentioning!<\/p>\n

On the east side, near the Spanish border lies the historic town of Tavira, a well kept secret and highly recommended. The charming centre \u00a0is separated by a wide river, and there are beautiful squares and bridges. Along the coast there are beautiful sandy beaches, which are only accessible by footbridge or boat. In the area of Tavira we have discovered a number of attractive hotels:<\/p>\n

Vila Monte Farmhouse<\/a> is located near the village of Moncarapacho, just 18 km from Faro and 10 minutes drive from the beach. The 50 luxurious rooms and suites are housed in a variety of villas and are surrounded by citrus trees. Vila Monte guarantees a relaxing stay but there are also lots of activities such as tennis, yoga, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, boating or biking. It is possible to take your own picnic basket to the beach or take a horse and carriage to Tavira. But also golf, bird watching or dolphin spotting during a boat trip.<\/p>\n

At 17km away lies the charming Praia Verde Boutique Hotel<\/a> suitable for lovely family holidays by the sea. Quietly situated in a pristine location and surrounded by pine trees the hotel has the most beautiful sandy beaches. The 40 suites have garden or sea view and consist of a living room with sofa bed and kitchenette and a balcony.\u00a0Seville is only 1.5 hours drive away and Faro airport 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

The small boutique hotel Vila Campina<\/a> is surrounded by fruit orchards in the hinterland and just 10 minutes’ drive from the sea. A tranquil location with nine beautifully styled rooms and surrounded by a beautiful garden with pool and sun loungers. Situated 2 km outside the village of Luz de Tavira and 7km from Tavira. From Luz de Tavira leaves a train departs to a to Barril beach.<\/p>\n

Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa<\/a>\u00a0is without doubt one of the most beautiful resort hotels in the South of Portugal with stunning views\u00a0over\u00a0the Atlantic\u00a0 Oceaan. Located on a cliff with lots of activities for young and old, excellent restaurants and a great spa.\u00a0Rooms are divided\u00a0over three different\u00a0buildings\u00a0located in a botanical garden of\u00a022 hectares. There are also villa’s for rent\u00a0for\u00a0parties of\u00a04 till 16 persons.<\/p>\n

The romantic Bela Vista Hotel & Spa<\/a> in Portim\u00e3o, has a stunning view of Praia da Rocha and Atlantic Ocean. This exquisite adults only hotel, is situated within walking distance of the most prestigious Algarve Golf Clubs and Marina of Portim\u00e3o. Perfect for those seeking refined hospitality in a historical space combined with modern requirements.<\/p>\n

Close to the historic town of Sagres on the extreme west of the Algarve, we have found a lovely spot. Martinhal Family Resort<\/span><\/a> is situated directly on the beach and is a beautiful property consisting of luxury rooms and tasteful spacious family villas and suites, some with private pool. It has several (heated) outdoor swimming pools, an indoor pool, a spa and gym and the beach at your doorstep. It has a sporty atmosphere and excellent facilities to swim, tennis, walk. bike or go horseback riding. Surfing instructors are available to teach the different techniques for surfing.
