The country is easy to reach with a KLM flight from Amsterdam and your journey will begin in Muscat. The country has a beautiful coastline. The Bay of Bandar Jussa is only a 20-minute drive from the historic center of the capital Muscat. Here lies <a href=\"http:\/\/www.muscathillsresort.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Muscat Hills hotel<\/a> in a sheltered bay and a beautiful sandy beach. The small-scale resort consists of 30 beach houses, suitable for 2 to 4 people.<\/p>\n<p>The other hotels along the coast are large-scale and luxurious, such as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ritzcarlton.com\/en\/hotels\/oman\/al-bustan\/hotel-overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Al-Bustan-Palace hotel<\/a> with delightful lagoon rooms with a terrace directly adjacent to the swimming pool. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shangri-la.com\/muscat\/barraljissahresort\/?utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=ppc&amp;utm_term=shangri+la+hotel+oman&amp;utm_campaign=Europe+T1+-+Brand&amp;WT.srch=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shangri La Resort<\/a> focuses on the active holiday maker with many sports facilities.<\/p>\n<p>A great way to travel in Oman is by 4-WD, with or without a driver. At <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rasaljinz-turtlereserve.com\/pages\/90\/accommodation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ras al Jinz<\/a>, many sea turtles come ashore every year to lay eggs. Here is the information center and you can sleep in comfortable tents by the sea. The journey then continues to the desert where <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nomadicdesertcamp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nomadic Camp<\/a> offers special activities in the desert. Including a trip on the back of a camel and an introduction to the lifestyle of the Bedouins.<\/p>\n<p>The journey then continues on to Nizwa, the cultural capital of Oman with a nice souk and an impressive fort. Just outside of Nizwa are the Hoota caves. Two million years old, 5 km of land and full of stalactites, stalagmites, lakes and more than 100 animal species including bats.
