{"id":336,"date":"2011-09-20T09:48:50","date_gmt":"2011-09-20T09:48:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/188.166.111.237\/?page_id=336"},"modified":"2019-08-21T07:49:57","modified_gmt":"2019-08-21T07:49:57","slug":"megeve","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/valerius.nl\/en\/reizen-is-leven\/wintersport\/megeve\/","title":{"rendered":"France: Megeve in Haute Savoie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Haute Savoie, is the region bordering Switzerland and Italy where Megeve is located, and known as one of the oldest skiing and hiking areas of France.<br \/>\nMegeve is our favorite because it offers everything that is a must in a real ski resort, but also has maintained the charm of a small mountain village even though the town is well known for its high content of the Jet-set and VIP\u2019s during the winter months.<br \/>\nMegeve forms together with the villages of Combloux, La Giettaz, Saint-Gervais, Saint Nicolas de V\u00e9roce and Les Contamines is the ski area of Evasion Mont Blanc. The 2350 meter high summit of Mont Joly offers great views of the Mont Blanc.<br \/>\nMeg\u00e8ve with a total of 445 km of pistes and over 100 lifts truelly is a \u201cski mecca\u201d. It features blue and red slopes; and the more experienced skiers also have the choice of seventeen black slopes. Because the village has an altitude of 1113 meters, it is located in the woods and is also ideal for other winter sports such as cross-country skiing, hiking and skating.<\/p>\n<p>Megeve can be reached within a half hour from Geneva airport and most of our accommodations offer a transfer by car or minibus. Megeve is also suitable for ski weekends because of it\u2019s easy accessibility.<br \/>\nWe offer a variety of accommodations in Megeve ranging from a simple ski hotel in the center to lovely 3 and 5-star hotels in and around Meg\u00e8ve. Such as L<a href=\"http:\/\/www.megeve-hotels.com\/uk\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">a Grange d\u2019Arly<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/en.fermesdemarie.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Les Fermes de Marie<\/a>. We also have attractive apartments in our portfolio as well as large private chalets with full catering (10-30 people).
