The country can serve as a film location in many different places as the landscapes are breathtaking and vary from deep blue fjords and green hills to high mountains and glacial lakes. Hidden in this breathtaking nature are beautiful lodges and overnight places where you can undertake many outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, kayaking and surfing. The best travel time is November to March.<\/p>\n<p>Most journeys start in bustling Auckland, where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoteldebrett.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">boutique hotel De Brett<\/a> is a great start. The North Island is also known for its deserted beaches and rolling hills. One of our favorite hotels north of Auckland is <a href=\"http:\/\/valerius.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/Helena-Bay.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Helena Bay<\/a> in The Bay of Islands. Rotorua is located on the south side of the lake of the same name and offers volcanic activities and a wonderful introduction to Maori culture. The <a href=\"http:\/\/valerius.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/Solitaire-Lodge.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Solitaire Lodge<\/a> is highly recommended and offers many special activities.<\/p>\n<p>You can cross from the North Island to the South Island from Wellington by ferry and continue on by water-taxi to the Marlborough Sounds, a beautiful fjord area. A great area for hikers and cyclists but wine lovers are also in the right place for the wines from this region are among the best. The <a href=\"http:\/\/valerius.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/The-Otahuna-Lodge.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Otahuna Lodge<\/a> is located near Christchurch, a wonderful overnight for this beautiful area. The South Island offers a wide variety of landscapes. One minute you can be in the rain forest of Abel Tasman National Park and a few hours later drive through areas with glaciers and snow.
