Costa Rica is highly recommended, the country has profiled itself as an eco-destination right from the very beginning. With nature conservation at the top of the priority list, there are more than 26 nature reserves amongst the volcanoes, high mountains and green rain forests. Here you can enjoy many exciting activities such as rafting, surfing, zipline and trekking.<\/p>\n

Outside the capital San Jos\u00e9 is the coffee plantation Finca Rosa Blanca<\/a>, a great place to recuperate after the flight and a great place to begin the journey. It is possible to drive in Costa Rica yourself but we advise you to book a good 4WD because the road networks are not always in order. \u00a0The Pacuare Lodge <\/a> is a 2-hour drive from San Jos\u00e9 and can be reached by raft, a fun way to travel.<\/p>\n

The Arenal volcano is the most active volcano in the country and still with occasional spectacular lava eruptions. Hikers can climb the volcano, but there the area also has a lot to offer. Thanks to the volcanic activity, hot springs and natural baths have been created. The guests of Rancho Margot<\/a> and the Nayara hotel<\/a> make good use of these.<\/p>\n

After all the sporting activities a wonderful place to relax is on the beautiful west coast with its long sandy beaches. There are many water sports facilities here, beautiful sunsets and the most sunshine hours of the country. You can sleep in villas, small eco-lodges and luxury resort hotels such as the Four Seasons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Lapa Rios Lodge<\/a> is located on a hill on the Osa Peninsula on the west coast and has unparalleled views of the ocean. It is a destination in itself and here you can walk to beautiful waterfalls with natural swimming pools or spend your days on beautiful sandy beaches which you almost have to yourself. The lodge has its own nature guides, yoga classes and massages. The 16 bungalows with veranda are a fifteen minute walk from a beautiful sandy beach.<\/p>\n

El Mangroove<\/a>, located right on the beach, is decorated with recycled materials and artwork and Cala Luna<\/a> is a delightful hotel on the beach of Playa Langosta, near the surfers hotspot Tamarindo.<\/p>\n

You can also end your journey with a visit to neighboring Nicaragua and spend a few nights at Jicaro Island Lodge<\/a>.
