Ionian Islands

The less densely populated and green Ionian Islands lie west of the Greek mainland. Vast forests and lush vegetation give many of the  islands a wonderful fresh green color all year round. There are no Ottoman influences to be found except on Lefkada, and it has been Europe such as the Republic of Venice that have been an important influence.

In Corfu town you will find these influences such as the boulevards of French architecture that overshadow the Neapolitan-looking alleys, where the washing  is often still hanging on the lines. The landscape on the island is characterized by olive trees and unexpected bays with beautiful sandy beaches. In the spring of 2018, Ikos Dassia opened its doors and is situated on a beautiful bay in the north of the island. This luxurious all-inclusive resort is built in a modern Mediterranean style and is located on a 600-meter long sandy beach. With many sports facilities and a dream for families with children of all ages. The Bella Mare hotel is much smaller and has stylish rooms with a private terrace and some with a sea view. The location is excellent, no sandy beaches but an extensive water sports center. If you have children 12 years or older and you are looking for more peace, keep Villa de Loulia in mind, a charming country house within walking distance of a charming village.

Lefkas lies to the south of Corfu and owes its name to the white beaches and white rocks at Cape Lefkatas. You can reach the island by car over a bridge that connects the island with the mainland. The southeast coast is the dream of every water sports enthusiast with its many islands, surrounded by a turquoise-colored sea. Moreover, a reliable wind can always be expected here: ideal for sailors and surfers! A good choice is a stay in the Idilli Villas within walking distance of the seaside town of Agios Nikitas. You can choose from one of the seven villas for 4 to 6 people each with a beautiful view and with or without a private swimming pool.
