Cuba: meet the locals

Cuba is hot and it attracts a lot of visitors all year round. However the hotel capacity is limited and the infrastructure is not yet optimal so it is definitely not a last minute destination. We offer attractive home-stays during our journey through Cuba, so that you may meet many hospitable Cubans along the way.

Almost all journeys to Cuba start in Havana, the historic capital full of atmospheric streets, squares, vintage cars, museums and baroque churches. Walk through Habana Vieja or take a ride in a real old-timer. There are several nice hotels to be found including La Reserva, a boutique hotel located in the Vedado neighborhood. Travelers often choose the Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana or hotel Saratoga.

The journey continues by car, with a driver,  to Viñales, the most beautiful valley in the country, where a guided walk is on the itinerary. It is also the region where tobacco plantations of the famous Cuban cigars can be found. It is advisable to spend the night in one of the many casas!

The journey continues to the south coast to Cienfuegos and Trinidad, declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. Trinidad dates from 1514 and is one of the most photographed cities in Cuba. A perfect example of what a city looked like during the Spanish Colonial era. A visit to Casa de la Musica and a food tour should not be missed and we suggest an overnight stay is in the Iberostar Grand Trinidad or Finca Kenya.

The trip ends with a visit to the island paradise of Cayo Santa Maria and a stay in the resort Melia Cayo Santa Maria with its white, sensuous beach right at your doorstep. The ultimate beach vacation you will always remember; the fantastic beach, the clear blue sea, the delicious food, the special hotel design but above all the cordiality of the staff. You won’t have to leave the house for a snack, drink or extensive meal: everything is “All In” here!

See it before Cuba enters a new phase in its history!
