Malaga

Most visitors consider Malaga only as the gateway to the Costa del Sol. But the ancient port city has been renovated in recent years and thanks to Mayor Francisco de la Torre, the city has been turned into a modern cultural centre. Malaga can now compete with cities such as Cordoba, Granada or Seville.

Malaga has the ambition to become the Spanish capital of Museums and is now home to 30 museums. Millions have been pumped into a the development of a brand new area close to the sea. On a corner of the harbour, the newly opened Centro Pompidou Málaga. has proudly presents it self as a glass light-cube. But there’s more, a brand new collection of the Russian Museum is to found in an old tobacco factory. The Automobile Museum now also has modern cars in addition to their collection of beautiful vintage cars. And the collection of the Picasso Museum includes more than 200 sculptures, drawings and ceramics by the artist.

Besides all the cultural highlights of the city, you can stroll, shop, dine or go to the beach. A large part of the city has been pedestrianized in recent years and the most important shopping street Marqués de Larios has lovely boutiques and designer shops.
