Cabo Verde archipelago

1500 km south of the Canary Islands lies a special group of islands off the west coast of Africa. Since the Portuguese discovered the islands in the 16th century, the official language has been Portuguese and the islands have had a Portuguese flavour. They are known for their fantastic music, wonderful sandy beaches and are a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. There are direct flights from Amsterdam to the islands (around 6 hours), but it is also possible to fly via Lisbon, make a stop-over thus combining city and beach.

All nine islands of the sun-drenched Cabo Verde archipelago have an average annual temperature that varies between 20 ° and 25 ° C. It is possible to hop from one island to another by boat or plane. A good combination is for example Ilha do Sal, Sao Vicente and Santo Antao.

The island of Sal has the most beautiful sandy beaches and numerous water sports. Hotel Morabeza was the first resort hotel on Sal and chose the best location by the sea, within walking distance of the village of Santa Maria. This cozy fishing village has nice shops, restaurants and bars. When the fishing boats sail back every day, there is a pleasant mix of locals and visitors who all come to view the fish on the pier.

Hotel Morabeza **** is built in a hacienda style and has the atmosphere of a small village with swimming pools and flower-filled gardens. A lovely sandy beach with sun beds and umbrellas is at your doorstep. Good water sports opportunities can also be found here. There is a choice of different types of hotel rooms with a terrace, including spacious family rooms with 2 bedrooms.
