Oman: Peninsula Musandam

The Sultanate of Oman consists of two parts. Musandam is located on the northernmost tip of the Arabian Peninsula. This area is separated from the rest of the country by a 110-kilometer-wide strip of the United Arab Emirates. The best arrival airport is Dubai and from there the journey continues over land to Musandam. The fjord-like bays and the steep mountains that rise more than 2000 meters above sea level have also given Musandam the nickname of “the Norway of Arabia”. For divers and snorkelers, the crystal clear water is a true paradise.

The beautiful Six Senses Resort is located about a two-hour drive north of Dubai and is situated between the 1.6 km long sandy beach of Zighy Bay and the underlying mountain range. This is the ultimate hideaway to travel to during the cold winter months enjoying total tranquility with summer temperatures. The resort is built in authentic Omani style and is counted as one of the most beautiful resorts in the Middle East.

There is a choice of 82 luxury villas with a terrace and private swimming pool. The smallest type of villa has a living room and bedroom and is extremely spacious (247 m² for max. 3 people). The Zighy pool villas have two bedrooms and all villas have butler service. At guests’ disposal are a beautiful swimming pool, marina and non-motorized water sports such as windsurfing, snorkeling and diving. A stay in Zighy Bay is often combined with a short stay in Dubai but there are also direct flights between Muscat and Musandan making it easy to combine a tour of Oman with a stay in Musandam.
