Those looking for the most beautiful beaches in Southern Europe still often come to Sardinia. This Italian island is famous for many aspects, but primarily the spectacular beaches, which are the most dramatic. The world famous Costa Smeralda or Emerald Coast, thís “king of gems” refers to the green coast. This coastline has been developed by Prince Karim Aga Khan IV as from the 1960’s and here you will find the most luxurious hotels in Europe. The jetset love to be seen here, but there are also the quiet, undiscovered beaches and islands to be found. In the hinterland there are interesting old towns in mountainous nature reserves, where you can enjoy hiking. Pinetrees grow on the beaches in the south and at regularly times groups of flamingos can be seen here.

Our favorite hotels are to be found in different locations, either by the ocean or in the beautiful hinterland and can be combined with each other.
The romantic and exclusive hotel Capo d’Orso is located on the rocks by the sea amidst wild olive and pine trees, on a large, private estate of 10 hectares, just 40 km from Olbia airport. With views over the archipelago of La Maddalena and the Costa Smeralda, it is one of the most enchanting spots on the beautiful island of Sardinia. There are two beaches within walking distance that are shaded by ancient trees.

In the hinterland lies the country estate of Su Gologone at the foot of the Supramonte mountains and approximately 25km from the ocean. Su Gologone has a swimming pool and the sea is within reach but the hotel is a good base for the most beautiful walks, bike rides and excursions by 4WD.
The west coast is significantly quieter and here we have found also found an attractive small hotel. Is Benas ideal for a wonderful stay in the countryside, 2km from the golf course and near the most beautiful beaches.

In Sardinia there are also beautiful villas for rent and an attractive price option is offered by Le Atunne, located in Porto Cervo in the northwest of Sardinia, 700 m from the ocaen. It offers 11 attractive terraced houses with 2 or 3 bedrooms for up to 6 people. The comfortable houses have a porch, garden and beautiful sea view.
