The journey begins in Quito, the capital of Ecuador and a city well worth seeing. According to the Lonely Planet, it is one of the best cities to visit in 2016. About 1,000 kilometres west of Ecuador, in the Pacific Ocean, lies the unique Galapagos Archipelago. The archipelago is a part of Ecuador and it can be reached within a 3 hour flight from Guayaquil/Quito. This unique animal paradise should on top of every nature-lover’s bucket list. The islands all have a different history and their own geological story. The landscapes are spectacular, with wild beaches and ancient volcanoes. It really is a small wonder that the animals have been able to develop undisturbed here for thousands of years.

Most of the islands are uninhabited and have developed their own forms of life. There is no other place in the world where this phenomenon is so obvious to see as here in the Galapagos. The animals have adapted quickly to their changing environment, changing their forms. Everyday you will visit another island, each with its own story and specific species. On the sandy sea lions are sleeping undisturbed and hundreds of marine iguanas lounge in the sun. While snorkelling penguins and seals curiously take a look or come and play with you.

A Galapagos cruise on board the M/S Eclipse, is an unforgettable experience. It’s an expedition-style cruise with the best guides and a water-sport centre on board. Small but comfortable and a fairly fast ship for up to 48 passengers. With a lovely sun deck, restaurant with outdoor terrace, bar / lounge and library.
