Morocco: Donkeys and Camels

At just a 3.5 hours flight from Netherlands, Morocco offers the greatest adventure of all Mediterranean countries. The country has beautiful beaches but an even more beautiful countryside  and therefore lends itself well for a roundtrip. Visit medieval towns with narrow streets, markets and squares and trips by donkey or camel. Overnight stays in palaces and tents in the desert. The Imperial  City of Marrakech is the starting point of the journey and it is on the main square Jmaa el Fnaa you will find snake charmers and acrobats. There are several beautiful family hotels with heated pools in and around the Palmeraie, a large palm grove on the outskirts of Marrakech. About 2 hours drive from Marrakech lies the Atlas mountains and a journey back in time. Here a great Kasbah was built on top of a mountain and it is here that you will stay. Donkeys take the guests and their luggage from the mountain village of Imlil to Kasbah du Toubkal, but during walks in the surrounding area, donkeys are a lot of fun and a great support for the children.  A more luxurious option is Kasbah Tamadot, with a lovely swimming pool and fun activities that are organized for children. Not far from Marrakech is the Atlantic Ocean with beautiful beaches. Also see our  8-daagse reis from Marrakech.
