Lisbon and region

The beautiful Portuguese capital lies majestically at the mouth of the wide Tagus River and in recent years has experienced a massive renovation. It is a city full of art and wonderful attractions, and with the most sunshine in all of Europe. The banks of the Tagus are rapidly being developed and former industrial buildings now hosts many vintage shops and small restaurants.

A historical and romantic hotel is the charming York House ****, housed in a former 17th century monastery, and is situated between the Lapa district and the Tagus at about 2km from the centre. For a family trip with small children to the Portuguese capital we would recommend staying in Chiado Martinhal. This stylish family hotel has an excellent location and offers family suites with a kitchen and the services of a baby concierge, babysitting service and kids club. It also is worth considering to stay just outside of Lisbon along the coast. The combination of city and beach will give you the best of both worlds!

Cascais is a former fishing village with beautiful beaches and has a regular train service to Lisbon. Hotel Pousada Cidadela Cascais is a typical Portuguese Pousada, which now houses a luxury hotel in this beautiful 16th-century historic building. The rooms are light and airy and the decor ultra modern! The harbour, the downtown area, the beaches and Lisbon are all within reach. We can also arrange day trips from Lisbon aboard a beautiful yacht. It is also possible to visit the Royal summer palaces of Sintra.
Just outside Cascais lies the Martinhal Family Hotel which opened it’s doors in 2016 The hotel has 72 stylish guest rooms and 12 charming three bedroom villas. The hotel comes equipped with indoor and outdoor pools, kids club, spa, driving range, putting green, 18-hole golf course ands is situated just 10 minutes drive from the sea.

About 60km north of Lisbon lies Areias do Seixo, one of the most unusual and original hotels in the Portugal. Situated on vast tranquil beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, it has a casual but welcoming atmosphere. The sleek architecture together with the exotic colours of the warm interior give the hotel an exciting combination. There are a total of 10 rooms, a penthouse and four villas available, therefore we recommended prompt booking for this accommodation.

Sublime Comporta, is located between Lisbon and the Algarve, not far from the sea. Comporta is one of the best kept secrets of the Portuguese, as they love to spend their holidays here. And not only because of the fantastic beaches found here. Also the hotel should is highly recommended! Travelling from Lisbon you cross the bridge over the Tagus River in Setubal, from where the ferry to Troia leaves. With a bit of luck you will spot dolphins while on board. After arrival in Troia you will be in Comporta in no time!
